Argentine journalist Mina Bonino, wife of Real Madrid midfielder Fede Valverde, responded to the statement issued by Villarreal player Alex Baena, after the royal player assaulted him – last Saturday – after the two teams faced La Liga.
The Villarreal player accused the player’s entourage of lying about the reason for attacking him, and hinted that Valverde took advantage of the crisis.
And media reports claim that Baena told Valverde after he was obstructed in the cup confrontation that brought the two teams together in January, “Cry now for your son who will not be born.” And at the time – according to reports – the Uruguayan international condoned the first incident, but the Villarreal player repeated what he said during last Saturday’s match in La Liga.
Valverde waited for Pena next to the team bus in the stadium’s garage, and told the Villarreal player, “Repeat what you told me on the field about my son,” and then hit him with a punch in the face.
On Twitter, Bonino tweeted that “lies hurt more than blows”, referring to the reason for Valverde’s attack, which he supposedly had to do with referring to the child he is expecting with his wife with a risky pregnancy that is already under control. She also said, “It pains me that they say we are taking advantage of the ordeal.”
The family is always ahead of everything. And I always said it, football is the least important of the most important things.
Our reward is that the pregnancy continues well and we would NEVER take advantage of a situation like this.

And she continued, “There is a God who sees everything and knows reality and we are calm, but they open a wound that does not close even because I will not feel peace of mind until the child is born. There are limits that must not be crossed, not everything in football. Not everything is worth in this life.”
She explained that there are limits, “and it reaches the limit when someone causes you direct pain. And I do not speak for anyone (Valverde). I convey my pain and if someone does not come out to speak today, it is because he does not want to relive what happened again, and on the contrary He wants to end this as soon as possible.”
And she added, “Imagine when you are in the 14th week of pregnancy and they tell you that your child will not be born, imagine that when you are in the 14th week and they tell you that your child will not be born, that he may be born with Down syndrome, and that you can choose to terminate the pregnancy or wait for tests that take results longer than Month”.
And she went on, “Imagine that you are ready to give birth to a stillborn child, and that you can try again in two or three months. Imagine that in the meantime, the communication networks offer me their condolences because it is rumored that I lost a pregnancy, as I did not know until now.”

And she concluded, “The family is always in the first place, football is the least important thing. Our reward is that the pregnancy continues well and we will never benefit from such situations.”
It was Villarreal – who claimed to have a video clip of the incident – that Baena had filed a complaint with the police after allegations of assault. The club said – the day before yesterday, Sunday – that the incident occurred when Baena (21 years) was on his way to the team bus after the match, and did not specify the perpetrator of the alleged assault.
Baena, a Spain under-21 player who has scored 10 goals in 38 games in all competitions this season, wrote on his Twitter and Instagram accounts that he was “very happy that the team won at a stadium like the Santiago Bernabeu, but at the same time very sad for the attack I suffered after.” The match and I am surprised by what is being said about me. Everything that is being said is completely wrong.”
And the Spanish sports program “El Chiringito” published a video clip, and attached it to the comment, “Paina’s cheek was swollen after Valverde’s punch.”
“Valverde is terrible and cowardly,” Villarreal representative Zesco Nadal said in a tweet on Twitter.
