Valve updates Portal 2 to enable bigger levels – Gaming – News

Valve has updated Portal 2 with the main change removing the 100MB limit for Workshop levels. This allows for the arrival of larger mods and levels to the platform game.

In addition to lifting the 100MB file size limit for Steam Workshop levels contains the update some fixes and rendering optimizations. Command line parameters have also been added to start a demo for benchmarking purposes.

Removing the file limit for Workshop can revive the game. After all, this allows modders to develop larger and more complex levels and mods. Such mods appear regularly; so appeared last month de mod Portal Reloaded with 25 puzzles and a portal gun that can also fire time travel portals.

Portal 2 was released ten years ago and has received some minor updates in recent years with mostly fixes. On March 1, the game received improved support for the Vulkan API with performance improvements including anti-aliasing on AMD hardware.
