With Steam Deck launching in December 2021, Valve is taking some time to make sure players know which titles will work on their mobile devices. Meanwhile Location It still promises “your Steam library, anywhere,” We have interest – and a bit of skepticism – about whether games designed for PCs will run well on Linux mobile devices or not.
The company recently opened its website @on deck A Twitter account to highlight PC gaming events running on Steam Deck, revealed today Steam Deck Compatibility Program.
The Steam Deck compatibility sticker appears on any game published via Steam, dividing it into four categories. The highest level, verified, has a green logo with a check mark, indicating a game that runs “great on Steam Deck, right out of the box.”
The next step is the yellow exclamation mark to turn on, which means you may need to manually change the settings to get it working. The other two tags are for games that aren’t supported on the Steam Deck or aren’t known for being untested.
Verified games work with on-screen keyboards, support Steam Deck native resolutions, fully support operating systems, and you can navigate their menus with a controller. The default store first page will only show verified games, but you can still browse or search the entire store.

valve too Have info for developers To verify that their game supports laptops and steps for anyone to submit their title for review. “Important” games can be reviewed even if they are not submitted manually, and developers can submit titles for review before release. One thing to note is that even if the developer deems their game unsuitable for the Steam Deck, there’s no way to hide it from the device’s built-in store. For PC gaming, compatibility and configuration across multiple devices has always been a strength and a weakness. Everything from proprietary control systems to anti-cheat software can mess things up, and it’s good to see Valve take proactive steps to help owners figure out which titles are up and running soon. Now we just need to know which games didn’t pass the test.
