Valve releases SteamOS update with color settings for Steam Deck

The Steam Deck is not ‘expensive’ imho, the fact that it is not cheap is another story.

But what is pointed out is that if you already have a Steam Deck, you buy a new one and sell the old one second hand. A significant amount of money ‘evaporates’. I bought a 512GB SD a year ago for €650, that’s what you get maybe €350 back after being used for a year… This means that €300 ‘evaporates’. In other words, your upgrade will cost €300. That’s not a big deal for an upgrade, almost half of the purchase price. Possibly more if you upgraded your SD.

At first I thought I would wait for the reviews of production models, but now I have looked at some experiences of those production units and such an upgrade is very interesting. But am I willing to pay that kind of money for it after a year of use? I am still in doubt…

In addition, you probably won’t be able to sell your 512GB (or higher upgraded) model to the paving stones because far too many people want to upgrade and there is not enough interest for a 2nd hand LCD SD… So that ‘loss’ may soon be possible. be even greater. Edit: There are currently 55 SD advertisements in V&A, which is a huge number imho!

I’m actually waiting for mods for the old SD that will negate the benefits. Convert to, for example, a (passively cooled) mini PC, no battery, no LCD, etc. required.
