Dota 2 has a long-standing problem with cheaters. So Valve decided to try to crack down on them, and they did. As the company writes in press release she managed to permanently ban more than 40 thousand players using fraudulent software. The trap for this group was a new patch, which until now had a data section visible only to the program used by cheating players. Anyone who pulled data from this “secret” section was banned. This is one of the winning battles of the fight against cheat creators. However, according to the company, the war continues, and this success certainly does not mean that you will no longer encounter cheating individuals while playing.
As the company writes in its comment: “Dota is a game that you enjoy the most when you have the same starting position as your opponents and victory is determined by skill and persistence. However, we are not naive and do not expect that new cheats will suddenly stop being created and used.” However, we are keeping our fingers crossed that the company succeeds in finding and subsequently eliminating these fraudulent ways as soon as possible.
