INDOZONE.ID – Valve has announced the Steam Deck as a handheld device that can run a variety of games on or off Steam.
Although it is claimed to be able to run various types of games, there will still be some games on Steam that cannot be run on the Steam Deck, one example is Half-Life: Alyx because this game requires a VR headset to play it.
This is what makes Valve introduce a new verification system on Steam to help all Steam Deck users when looking for games that they can play smoothly on their devices.
Later, the verification system will come with four categories, namely Verified, Playable, Unsupported, and also Unknown. The following is a breakdown of the categories:
- Verified: Games can run smoothly on Steam Deck immediately when purchased
- Playable: Games can be run on Steam Deck but require manual settings by the player
- Unsupported: Game won’t work on Steam Deck for a while
- Unknown: Steam still hasn’t checked whether the game is compatible with Steam Deck or not
Later the Steam Store on the Steam Deck will also prioritize verified games to be displayed on the main page, where users can search for games that have not been verified until they are not supported from the library.
