INDOZONE.ID – A security researcher on the Hackerone site has just found a loophole in Steam that is quite fatal. How not, this loophole allows him to add an unlimited number of Steam Wallets.
Of course, if it falls into the hands of the wrong person, of course this gap can be used to buy various items from the Market or games to Valve, who has to bear it all.
Luckily the researcher named Drbrix was kind and reported the loophole secretly to Valve so that the loophole could not be exploited by anyone other than himself.
“I think the impact is very clear, attackers can later make their own money and directly damage the Steam market such as selling game keys at low prices and so on,” Drbrix wrote in a report on the Hackerone website.
As a result, Valve immediately responded to the gap swiftly and one of the employees at Valve, JonP, thanked Drbrix for finding the gap and now the gap has been fixed.
Of course Valve didn’t just thank Drbrix for what he had done. It is known that the company led by Gabe Newell gave Drbrix a cash reward of US $ 7,500 or equivalent to Rp. 100 million.
Because it has been fixed, now Valve is not afraid to tell the public if there is a loophole that can be considered very dangerous and now they have fixed it.
