Valve Expands SteamOS Support: ROG Ally Compatibility Sparks Excitement Among Gamers

(PressFire.no): It was in the update notes for SteamOS – the operating system that powers the Steam Deck PC console – that someone saw a rather funny message a few days ago.

– Added support for ROG Ally buttons, read the note.

And so the speculation began.

The ROG Ally is a competing handheld PC from Asus that runs Windows, but now Valve is warning in an interview with The Verge that they are making SteamOS available for more devices than their own.

– The notes about the ROG Ally buttons are related to third-party hardware support for SteamOS, Valve’s Lawrence Yang tells the website.

It’s not entirely clear yet, but there is “steady progress”, says Yang.

The Verge says that this does not mean that ROG Ally comes with SteamOS pre-installed.
