Valve has improved some elements of Dota 2 graphics with the release of the summer update. The developers shared information about the changes on the official website of the game.
The authors of Dota 2 have improved the performance of the game when processing the glow from particles, and made the projectiles from the towers into light sources. Improvements have also been made to shadows, which now cast even clouds. In addition, the developers have increased the contrast in the dark areas of the map. The authors of Dota 2 also left in the files of the patch page a comic comparison of the game’s graphics using the example of Lion – the developers showed how it looked before adding it to MOBA and the modern look of the hero.
The summer update for Dota 2 was released on the night of August 31st. With it, Valve redesigned the decency system, expanded the reporting capabilities, and also changed the game interface. In addition, Collector’s Cache 2023 has arrived in Dota 2 with 16 new sets.
