Yesterday there was news that perhaps Valve will soon start selling refurbished Steam Decks at lower prices. The company quickly decided to confirm these rumors and reveal its offer.
On Steam, there was actually an offer to sell Steam Decks after official repairs, or if you prefer “refurbished” editions. We’re dealing here with official repairs, bringing the hardware to near-factory quality (Hardware may have minor visual imperfections, as reported by Valve). In the case of large manufacturers, you can most often be tempted to buy such electronics, without fear that the equipment will be, for example, emergency. We also get such equipment full warranty. However, it is worth checking the manufacturer’s description for the refurbished version each time, because there is no single, valid definition of this term.

Each Certified Refurbished Steam Deck has been thoroughly tested to the same high standards used for retail units. A full factory reset, software update, and extensive testing of over 100 tests are performed on each device. These include testing all input components, audio system, screen and internal components. The condition of the battery is also assessed to ensure its proper functionality and lifetime.
All refurbished units meet or exceed performance standards for new retail units. While they may have minor visual imperfections, they provide a reliable, high-quality gaming experience for a lower price.
