“These children, who come to these programs looking to make their dreams come true, are exposed to these substances, ignoring the damage it causes to their health, since the effects arise in the short and long term,” he added.
He indicated that acute renal failure, liver cancer, hypertension and muscular problems are among the conditions mentioned by the specialist, referring to those that occur as an effect of the consumption of anabolic steroids.
He stressed that existing laws should place more emphasis on the protection of minors in these situations.

Dr. Aida Lucia Vargas, director of Immunopreventables by Vaccines, reported that some 313,831 people have been vaccinated (28.9 percent of the population in question) against diphtheria, tetanus, whooping cough, and polio.
