– You can see for yourself that we really deal with pensioners, seniors, and the PO, liberals, Warsaw elites really raised the retirement age – said Morawiecki, and called the valorization index “unprecedented”.
But even that wasn’t enough. According to the data published by the Central Statistical Office, the value of average pensions throughout 2022 decreased by 4.7% compared to the previous year.
“Their purchasing power was lower than in 2021. Decrease in real benefits from the non-agricultural social security system recorded for the first time since 2000.– informed the Central Statistical Office. Let us recall that in 2000 Poland was not even in the European Union, and Jerzy Buzek was the Prime Minister at that time.
All, of course, because of inflation, which in 2022 was very high and remained at a double-digit level for many months.
Anyway, the real decline in pensions from ZUS was still visible at the end of 2021. At that time, however, the first three quarters were so good that the annual average benefits increased. This can be seen in the chart below.
“The average monthly nominal gross pension and disability pension from the non-agricultural social security system in 2022 amounted to PLN 2,869.20 and was 9.4 percent higher than in 2021 (…) The purchasing power of the average benefit from this system in 2022 was 4.7 percent higher than in 2022. lower than a year ago, including in December it decreased by 5.8 percent. per year“, we read in the Office’s report.
Situation only thirteens and fourteens savedwhich ZUS paid again in 2022.
The data of the Central Statistical Office also shows that the situation in KRUS is even worse. Farmers’ pensions are declining in real terms for the second year in a row.
Perhaps from here reform announced by the government in the autumn in this regard. In accordance with the draft new provisions on benefits in KRUS are to be indexed on the same basis as those from ZUS.
Farmers with a company or a large farm will get additional money, but much less than originally declared by the government. Differences in monthly payments can even exceed PLN 1,000. We wrote more about this in Business Insider Polska.
