In recent days the Guardia di Finanza of the Provincial Command of Salernoas part of the constant action to monitor the spread of products that do not comply with the safety standards imposed by EU legislation, has identified over 1,500 cosmetic products containing substances harmful to the health of buyers.
Specifically, the Financiers of the Company Vallo della Lucania have carried out targeted checks on various Cilento businesses, focusing in particular on some cosmetic products on sale in order to detect the presence of prohibited substances among the descriptive indications on the packaging.
The meticulous checks carried out by the Fiamme Gialle Vallesi have made it possible to find and seize over 1,500 articles (body and face cream, scrub, eye contour, shower gel, repairing elixir for sensitive skin, shampoo)containing principles prohibited by European standards, such as “butylphenyl methylpropional” e “butylphenyl methylpropional (with acronym BMHCA)”, also called “LILIAL”, as they are carcinogenic and potentially harmful to human health.
The entrepreneurs have therefore been reported to the Public Prosecutor’s Office of Vallo della Lucania and will now have to answer for the crime of sale of cosmetic products containing harmful substances for human health in violation of community rules.
