Since last evening, in the territorial district of Vallo della Lucania one is active Operational Intervention Team (SIO) of the 10th “Campania” Carabinieri Regiment of Naples, specialized in territorial control and combating organized forms of predatory crime, sent by the General Command of the Carabinieri, in agreement with the Prefecture of Salerno.
The personnel of the SIO, which constitute “operational units” specialized in extraordinary control services of the territory in the form of reinforcement contingents with trained soldiers to allow the territorial commands to implement additional control services in order to resolve emerging critical issues and counteract the resurgence of specific criminal phenomena, will support the Carabinieri of the Stations and of the Operational and Radiomobile Unit of the Territorial Department of Vallo della Lucania, already engaged in the fight against criminal groups dedicated to home burglariesso as to increase surveillance activity in the large territorial band south of the Salerno capital, the control of passing cars and suspicious people.
To allow effective intervention by the force’s personnel, citizens are asked to collaborate in reporting as quickly as possible to the emergency number 112. the presence of suspicious people or cars noticed near homesor report thefts suffered or attempts thereof, in order to allow rapid intervention by the Carabinieri with specialized support teams and above all the implementation of broader operational plans capable of intercepting any people and cars entering the area or who try to move away from the territory.
