Valledupar CDI preventively closed due to child poisoning

The children who are in the daily care of the Child Development Center of the Los Milagros de Valledupar neighborhood, which is attached to the Colombian Institute of Family Well-being, presented poisoning with symptoms of diarrhea and vomiting, for which they had to be referred to different clinics the city.

The case arose during the course of Tuesday after the little ones between 1 and 5 years old ate the food, apparently it was a dairy product in poor condition.

According to Cesar’s Secretary of Health, Guillermo Girón, 59 children were under medical surveillance with mild to moderate dehydration.

Likewise, the official indicated that the necessary samples were taken to determine through the Cesar Public Health Laboratory what affected the minors.

“This specific center underwent a review in March with a warning and they incurred it again, we saw it yesterday and the place was closed preventively,” said Girón.

Finally, he stated that in the face of this eventuality, the 24 Child Development Centers that operate in the municipality are being monitored again.
