“We had chosen not to interfere in the electoral campaign, but we have certainly not been stopped. We have used these months for new insights on ProgettoSalute 2030 which we will now present to the new Regional Health Councilor”. The Committee for a New Hospital is once again fueling the debate on the state of health of the Aosta Valley healthcare system.

It is worth remembering that medical managers still in service at the Parini Hospital, administrative managers, former Primaries, health workers, hospital technicians and simple users are part of the Promoting Committee. The petition launched by the Committee has collected about 600 signatures, including that of the new Councilor for Health, Roberto Barmasse, who had signed the platform on May 3, 2020. Also for this reason, the Promoters now intend to meet the new Councilor.
“On the mat – reads a note from the Committee – the problems are growing. While a series of solicitations remain unanswered in all the summer months which included:
a) the creation of an efficient epidemiology service for the management of the Covid phenomenon;
b) strengthen the “filter” activity on the territory; maintenance of diagnostic / therapeutic activities for non-Covid diseases;
d) free the Parini Hospital from administrative services;
e) bring the Maternal and Child Department to Parini with a pediatric emergency room that could temporarily become a backup in the event of a Covid resurgence;
f) the spaces thus freed up at the Beauregard could accommodate a low-intensity care service.
The problem is that none of these ideas have been collected and today we are in “emergency” again. Also from the point of view of the staff, the choices made leave much to be desired if we consider that a competition for 83 Professional Infemieri was launched during the summer and, in the end, only 66 were admitted.
Despite the strong need and despite the fact that all had passed the practical test as many as 17 were excluded from the oral and now a new competition will have to be held. Will anyone pay for these decidedly illogical choices? The meeting with the new Health Councilor therefore wants to reopen a discussion that the Committee had already started in the last months with the trade unions of the sector, finding many points in common.
The theme is not only “New Hospital”, but how to best organize the Health theme of which the Hospital is an element, but must be connected with the other lacking point of the current socio-health service, namely the management of the ” Territory”.
