More street than ever. This is how a new edition begins, number 23 of the International Festival of Arts and Street Theatres, which will be attended from this Wednesday and until Sunday of a total of 46 companies from all over the world and that will show their shows on 38 outdoor stages. An event that will pay tribute to the company FiraTárrega.
And a festival where local companies will also be present, a total of five El Silo-Casa de Cultura, Alicia Maravillas, LokoLook, El mono habitado and the showman Ramiro Vergaz, three of which have participated in the presentation held at the Patio Herreriano Museum of Valladolid in an act that has been presented by Juan Herrero, responsible for Programs of the Municipal Foundation of Culture.
Alicia Sanz, from Alicia Maravillas and Miguel Jerez, from El Silo-Casa de Cultura have been beneficiaries of the local City Council program for cultural creation and the reactivation of the sector due to covid-19. Precisely «Autostop», the work of Jerez, is a co-production with the Municipal Foundation of Culture. A theatrical adventure inspired by the simplest elements of street theater, with masks, puppets and different objects.
While “Oleahí” by Alicia Maravillas is an ode to traditional folklore. A slapstick comedy about the pursuit of dreams that upends male and female roles.
For his part, Roberto Lokolook offers the people of Valladolid a new style of make-up and hairdressing with his traveling show “Nomads in Action”, which premieres at the festival.
The Valladolid presence will continue with “El mono habitado”, with its show “Benditas”, a Marian apparition and that They make the public participate in their visions and with a critical look at the role of women throughout history.
And closes the showman Ramiro Vergaz, an artist of international significance, with more than 25 years of experience and who has received national and international recognition after having performed in more than 20 countries. Now he will take the audience back to the “roaring 20’s” through endless juggling, stunts and clumsiness.
