/ world today news/ The leader of the NFSB Valeri Simeonov and current Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the National Council for Cooperation on Ethnic and Integration Issues, was convicted at first instance by the District Court – Burgas for his anti-Roma speech as a deputy from the rostrum of the National Assembly on December 17 2014, BNT reported.
The case was filed by Roma journalists Kremena Budinova and Ognyan Isaev. The court finds that Simeonov’s words constitute harassment within the meaning of the Anti-Discrimination Act, as they lead to harming the dignity of the person and create a hostile, degrading, humiliating and offensive environment, and anyone of Roma ethnicity can be affected by them .
The Deputy Prime Minister was sentenced to cease the violation, as well as to refrain from further violations in the future.
