The sad news invaded the web this Saturday, October 12 like wildfire. Valery, member of the Zouglou group, Espoir 2000, died in Paris after a long illness.
The Ivorian showbiz and mainly the Zouglou sector has once again been hit hard. While Ivorian artists and even some Ivorian music lovers remember the disappearance of Douk Saga this Saturday, October 12, it is sad news that invades social networks that same day.
According to a source from the cultural promoter in Paris, Joss Men Joss, and relayed by several platforms, the artist Valérie Théa Dogbo, better known under the name of Valery, from the group Zouglou, Espoir 2000, has definitively put down the microphone this day in France. And this, a few months after the death of Alan Bill (ex-member of the group Esprit de Yop) in Paris.
It’s a real blow for his partner, Pat Sacko, who even shared a joyful video with him on the web a few days ago to announce the release, on November 9, of their new album entitled ”Tableau blanc” and promote the show called ”Zouglou Légends”, scheduled for November 2 at the Abidjan Exhibition Center with other groups and artists such as Les Garagistes, Yodé and Siro, Petit Denis and Soum Bill.
It should be noted that Valery had been ill since 2017 and suffered from blood cancer which required treatment for several years in France. The artist really fought to heal himself, but unfortunately it was this illness that got the better of him today.
He leaves his partner and friend Pat Sacko forever orphaned. The sudden loss of Valery will surely delay the release of their new record production of around ten songs.
