Last weekend the 1st phase of the National Karate League was held in Pontevedra, in which the Badajoz Valeria Rebollo, Enrique Carmona and Gonzalo Paniagua competed representing the Osaka Karate Club.
Even with a long journey involved, it did not prevent the Badajoz from doing a good performance in the tournament. Carmona and Paniagua stayed close to the medals, while Rebollo managed to sneak onto the podium and hang the bronze medal.
The Badajoz karatekas competed alongside 600 other young athletes, belonging to 111 clubs throughout the Spanish territory. The second phase of the National Karate League will take place next November in Malaga.
