“The portfolios in the Council of Ministers regarding the Deputy Prime Ministers have not yet been specifically allocated. But I think that after tomorrow’s meeting, the Ministry of Tourism will also be in my portfolio. He assured that he will help in whatever way he can in terms of clearing the sites to be moved, infrastructure and providing manpower.

For her part, Nikolina Angelkova pointed out to representatives of the industry that the purpose of today’s meeting is to draw together with them the urgent steps that the Ministry of Tourism must take in relation to the coming summer season on the one hand and on the other – these urgent steps in connection with the main priorities of the ministry for one 4-year mandate.

As the first task, she highlighted the legislative framework and the difficult task of completing the public consultation and discussion regarding the Tourism Act. “There are quite important requirements and priorities that we have drawn up and should be finalized for the sector to function normally, such as the status of national resorts, to strengthen and properly coordinate the work in terms of marketing and advertising and to advertise our winter and summer resorts, cultural tourism, adventure tourism, eco tourism and all the others”, explained Nikolina Angelkova. She explained that the most important thing was to create the legal framework for this to be done.

On the other hand, the line minister stated that it is important to continue the work to facilitate the use of the mineral springs. “We have over 1,600, but only about 10% of them are utilized. It is important to continue working in the direction of advertising and promoting all types of our tourist attractions, to make all attractions as accessible as possible. To find this coordination mechanism or unit in terms of complying with the requirements of the Labor Mobility and Labor Migration Act to be able to issue work permits for 90 days for third country nationals within 7 days to solve the problem of personnel in tourism”, Angelkova pointed out.
