Valentino Rossi’s VR46 Racing Team to Become Yamaha Satellite Team in 2025

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – Legend MotoGP Valentino Rossi reportedly has agreed to bring his team, namely VR46 Racing Team which is currently under the umbrella Ducati became a Yamaha satellite team.

Speedweek reports that next year will be the VR46 Racing Team’s last season as a Ducati satellite team. Then in 2025, the VR46 Racing Team will use motorbikes Yamaha YZR-M1.

The initial contract between the VR46 Racing Team and Yamaha lasts for two years, namely in 2025 and 2026. The agreement is said to have occurred last week when the 2023 Qatar MotoGP took place.

Reporting from Crashindications that the VR46 Racing Team will become a Yamaha satellite team can actually be smelled some time ago, where Yamaha has been diligent in approaching Rossi.

Rumors are circulating that in 2025 one of the VR46 Racing Team riders will use a factory specification motorbike. The concept is similar to what Pramac Racing is doing with Ducati.

Earlier this year Rossi became a Yamaha brand ambassador. Rossi himself is a MotoGP legend who is synonymous with Yamaha, even though at the start of his career he was with Honda.

Then, as is known, Yamaha does not have a satellite team since RNF Racing left and joined Aprilia. Yamaha itself has always said that the existence of a satellite team is really needed.

Yamaha is known to be actively looking for a satellite team to replace RNF Racing, and the VR46 Racing Team seems to fit that need.
