DOHA – Yamaha dominated two race wins in Qatar. In the opening series titled MotoGP Qatar 2021, Maverick Vinales success appears the fastest to reach the finish line. Then the second race belonged to Fabio Quartararo who won the Doha series.
The success of Vinales and Quartararo then made Yamaha increasingly emphasize that Losail was the mainstay of the factory team with the tuning fork logo. However, in fact not all Yamaha riders can shine in Qatar.
There were two Yamaha satellite racers who came from the Petronas Yamaha SRT team who actually fizzled out during the two races at the Losail Circuit. The two drivers are Valentino Rossi and Franco Morbidelli.

Rossi and Morbidelli could even be said to have failed miserably when they appeared at the Qatar MotoGP 2021 which took place at the end of March and in the Doha series which just ended on Monday (5/4/2021) in the morning WIB. Both of them finished in a compact finish outside the top 10 in the two races at the Losail Circuit, Qatar.
Many obstacles, of course, made Rossi and Morbidelli unable to perform optimally. One of them is the motor factor used by the two riders of the Yamaha satellite team.
For Morbidelli, it might be a bit natural to have problems because the motorbike he uses is not the same as that used by Quartararo and Vinales. The problem is that Rossi gets the exact same motorbike package as Quartararo and Vinales.
However, Rossi could only finish in 12th place when appearing in the Qatar series and at the Doha GP race he could only finish the race in 16th position. Rossi himself wondered why Vinales and Quartararo could go so fast.
Even more surprisingly for Rossi, both Quartararo and Vinales seemed to have exchanged views in the two races at Losail. Like when Vinales won, Quartararo did not perform well.
Then when Quartararo appeared fast and won, Vinales who took turns had bad luck. Rossi himself does not know what caused it. However, what is certain is that Rossi is a little jealous to see the two riders from the Yamaha factory team at least able to appear fast in one of the races in Qatar.
“I think Quartararo did a fantastic race. This time it was Maverick who had to fight a little like Quartararo last week. Quartararo’s race was fast as did Maverick last week! Why did this happen? I don’t even know! ” Rossi said, quoting from Crash, Monday (5/4/2021).
