Randy E. (22), the main suspect in the femicide and partner of Valentina Usseglio (22), refrained from testifying before the Public Ministry yesterday; however, he requested through his lawyer to go to an abbreviated process.
The prosecutor in question, Edson Orellana, and the investigators from the Special Force to Combat Violence (Felcv) went to the Viedma hospital, where Randy is hospitalized, to take his statements but he refused.
“He has refrained from testifying. He has expressed his willingness to have an alternative way out, an abbreviated process, ”Orellana said in time to point out that it is the first case of femicide registered in Cochabamba.
Meanwhile, the departmental commander of the Police, Erick Holguín, reported that the motives for the crime would be passionate, in addition that there would be a history of violence in the couple.
The departmental prosecutor Nuria Gonzales regretted the first case of femicide in Cochabamba and pointed out that it is investigating whether there would be complicity of other people in the case.
Valeria and her partner Randy had barely been in love for three months, but the man’s jealousy and possessive and violent attitudes caused her to end the relationship.
