15.20 Swedish time, the group stage match in Helsinki between Denmark and Germany would start. That did not happen.
Just before the warm-up, the fire alarm went off in the World Cup arena – which had to be evacuated with immediate effect. One of those who was forced to leave the arena was Viaplay’s expert Valentina Lizana.
– We sit and rehearse before the broadcast when a security guard comes and says that we must evacuate the arena at once, says Lizana and continues:
– It went very fast. We got up and went out.
The reason for the evacuation was an electronics fire. But the hockey expert did not know then.
– It is clear that they had time to start thinking: “What is happening” considering everything around the world right now, says Valentina Lizana.
What did it look like outside the arena?
– When we came out, there were already lots of fire trucks and police on site.
Do you know when the match can start?
– No, we are waiting to be told about it now.
