In this Sunday’s competition, the Italian Valentina Basilico, from the Eneicat-CM team, was crowned the best in stage II of the Vuelta Ciclista El Salvador UCI 2.1 and added points for the world ranking of the International Cycling Union.
Today’s route was a closed circuit of 72 kilometers, divided into 12 laps of 6 kilometers each, which began in front of the José Adolfo Pineda National Gymnasium, continued along 49 South Avenue, Los Héroes Boulevard, 25 North Avenue, Cuscatlán Park and finished at the National Gymnasium.
The Italian athlete completed the circuit in 1 hour, 44 minutes and 46 seconds, second place went to the Colombian Karen González (Sistecredito-GW) and third place to the Russian Tamara Dronova, from Roland.
“Good like the other day, my team very good. The circuit had many turns, I thought I could escape. In the end, very good, the team has worked very well, we are all very happy. Good points, my team is very happy, as am I,” Basilico said.
The last lap of the competition was full of emotion as the Roland team maintained dominance; However, the teamwork of the Sistecredito-GW cyclists was crucial for the victory of Valentina Basilico, who had already emerged as the best in the Grand Prix El Salvador, a circuit that began in Plaza Salvador del Mundo and ended in Sonsonate.
All the stages of the Tour El Salvador that have been carried out so far have been successfully completed, which once again demonstrates the organizational capacity of El Salvador and reaffirms that the country is prepared to host world-class events.
