The Valenciennes 11 yesterday reported the words of Nicolas rabuel, coach of the north, who confirmed the interest of several clubs in his midfielder Mohamed Kaba, including ASSE.
At the end of last season, Mohamed Kaba took stock of his past year with VAFC. True fulcrum of the collective, he has taken on a dimension that makes him one of the most courted Valenciennes in the squad. “I think I’ve had a pretty good season even if statistically a bit weak. I will work to be even stronger statistically. I want to score more, make even more assists because it’s not enough for my role. I’ve had many situations where I could have scored but I didn’t defend them.”
“I guess it’s not just Saint-Etienne who is interested in him”
Followed by ASSE for several months, as it has been confirmed to us, Mohamed Baka could commit himself to the Saint-Etienne club which would launch the offensive for the young hopefuls of Valenciennes. The 11 Valenciennes explain:
“If some Ligue 1 clubs, including Strasbourg and Brest, remain attentive to his growth, it is above all Saint-Etienne who seem ready to go on the offensive this summer. When asked about his player’s future, Nicolas Rabuel remained particularly serene “Mohamed will be with us in Metz. After the market… It’s the market. I guess it’s not just Saint-Etienne who’s interested in him. The future of him, I don’t know the current time.
In a far from idyllic financial situation, VAFC will be unlikely to say no to a seven-figure offer for their midfielder. As proof, some echoes already report a possible sale of around two million euros. A potentially large financial operation but certainly a real sporting loss given the importance assumed by Mohamed Kaba for just over a year. It remains to be seen whether Saint-Etienne will have the finances to carry out its offensive on this issue. Meanwhile, Mohamed Kaba should be able to keep his place at Metz, after last weekend’s ankle warning against Le Havre.
An outcome therefore seems to be expected in the course of the next week…
