EDITORIAL.- Before the start of the flu vaccination campaign, the Valencia College of Nursing invites all vulnerable groups and those at the most sensitive risk of suffering from respiratory diseases, to be aware of the the importance of being immunized for the colder months.
Although the campaign has started giving priority to people over 70, especially those over 80, and to women who are pregnant or have just given birth, the school reminds us that the flu vaccine is also indicated for those over 65 of age. , people at risk of complications deriving from this respiratory pathology, women who are pregnant or just given birth, health and social health personnel and personnel of essential public services.
Health Centers
The population will be vaccinated in their respective health centers, with the exception of essential service workers (state security forces and bodies) who will be vaccinated in their workplaces. Everyone will receive a quadrivalent dose of vaccinea formulation for protection against four different types of influenza viruses.
The Valencia College of Nursing encourages vaccination, after Health noted that, in general, the population is receiving more flu vaccinations, in some cases refusing to inoculate the booster dose against COVID-19. For this reason, the school recalls that the Vaccination Strategy recommends that, if you are over 60, vaccines against COVID and influenza can be administered together.
Rejection
Health centers note an increase in users who refuse to receive the coronavirus vaccine. Evaluating the data on the growth of the incidence of COVID-19 in other European countries in the surrounding area and given the possibility that an epidemic wave could occur in Spain within weeks, it should be remembered that health authorities recommend that those who have more than 60 years of age also get vaccinated with the booster dose.
