The Valencian music group Zoo has announced this Sunday, January 7, its farewell to the stage after 10 years of tours and concerts around the world. The band from Gandía has communicated this with a video of more than two minutes titled ‘ADÉU’ in which the ‘monet’, symbol of the group, leaves the noise of the city until he meets ‘Panxo’ (as Toni is known Sánchez, the most visible face of the band), to whom he sends a farewell gesture.
Zoo emerged in 2014 in Gandía after the success of Panxo’s song ‘Estiu’ (accumulating 7.6 million views on YouTube) and left a decade later after publishing three studio albums (‘Tempestes venen del sud’, ‘Raval and ‘Llepolies’), an EP and two live albums.
His music in Valencian has managed to bring together 20,000 people in large venues such as the WiZink Center in Madrid or the Palau Sant Jordi in Barcelona. They have also performed in countries such as France, Poland, Japan, Germany, Hungary, England, Switzerland, Belgium and Palestine.
At the end of the year they performed at the ‘Festivern’ in Tavernes de la Valldigna in front of 7,000 people. Before their final farewell they will perform a short tour of 10 concerts in the Riviera de Madrid, the Garaje Beat Club de Murcia, the Telecogresca festival (Barcelona), Primavera Trompetera (Jerez de la Frontera), Iruña Rock, Zeid Fest (Bilbao), In Candeloira (Lugo), Viñarock (Villarrobledo), Sensenom Festival (Mallorca), Alterna Festival (El Bonillo) and the last one, in Gandía, at the Pirata Beach Festival.
‘Panxo’, interviewed by Europa Press TV, assured in March 2023 that Zoo was “the band of his life, the band that I dreamed of (…) the project that has given me happiness and has made my life happy.” «I don’t want to buy a plane, I don’t have any crazy ideas; I just want to continue making a living from music and try my best to avoid having to put my resume in a supermarket to work,” he said then. Almost a year later, they say goodbye.
