As previously mentioned, Valencia immediately stepped on the gas as soon as the first half match started. They immediately created danger in the defense of Real Madrid.

In the third minute, there was controversy. Edinson Cavani was prevented by Aurelian Tchouameni in the penalty box while in control of the ball.

Players Valencia and Cavani then asked for a penalty. However, the referee deemed no violations occurred. Even though he was not far from the crime scene.

In replays, it was clear Tchouameni was blocking Cavani’s run. There was contact between the two and it was natural for the Uruguayan to call for a penalty.

Tutorial Turn Off Vinicius

Everyone knows that one of Real Madrid’s strengths is Vinicius Junior. His running agility and ability to dribble the ball has become a scourge for many opposing defenders.

Valencia was already aware of this. They then tried to turn off the movement of the Brazilian player.

They not only try to limit the bait given to him. The Valencia squad also immediately tried to surround him as soon as he got the ball.

And if there aren’t many players around him, then the player closest to him must try to stop him by relying on physical strength. Vinicius several times got body check from opponent.

Their efforts were successful. Vinicius couldn’t develop his game in this match because every time he got the ball he would be squeezed and dropped.

From WhoScored’s record, he was only able to fire one shot and even that was not on target. Vinicius only created one keypass. He also received a rating of 5.37, the lowest among all the players on the field at that time.

In the 70th minute the match stopped. Because there are two balls in the field at the same time.

When the match was still stopped, Vinicius Junior looked emotional. He then had time to point towards the stands, precisely behind Valencia’s goal.

Vinicius also looked emotional. It seems that he again experienced racist treatment from opposing supporters.

This is not the first time he has received similar treatment. Vinicius was also the target of similar actions when Madrid dueled against Osasuna, Mallorca, Real Valladolid and Atletico Madrid.

This is of course troubling. Incidents like that should not have happened let alone repeatedly.

Vinicius ‘Explodes’

After being the victim of an act of racism, Vinicius Jr. is visibly disturbed. He looks emotional on the field.

Vinicius’ anger was then seen in 90+5 minutes. At that time, he appeared to confront a Valencia player who was trying to stall for time.

He became even more emotional because he was provoked by the Valencia goalkeeper, Giorgio Mamardashvili. Shortly thereafter Vinicius was caught slapping the face of one of the opposing players with his right arm.

His action was caught by the VAR and the referee gave him a second yellow card and that meant Vinicius had to take a quick shower. When walking towards the sidelines, the 22-year-old player still looked very emotional.

As he approached the edge of the field he seemed to point two fingers at the entire Mestalla stadium. He hinted that Valencia would be relegated to the second division of the Spanish League next season.

The action had made the atmosphere a little heated. However, Vinicius was immediately rushed into the dressing room by his Madrid colleagues and staff.

Vinicius’ anger is understandable because he often gets racist treatment. Unfortunately he responded with less commendable actions as well.

Valencia got what they were looking for. They successfully packed three points from Real Madrid.

Valencia can breathe a little easier. They can stay away from the relegation zone. Now they pack 40 points from 35 matches.

Valencia is five points ahead of Valladolid, who is ranked 18th in the 2022/2023 La Liga standings. However, it is clear that with three matches remaining, there is still a chance for them to be overtaken by Valladolid plus Elche who are in 19th place with a collection of 34 matches.

Valencia now need four more points to escape from the relegation trap. Or just one draw if Valladolid loses the next game.

Atlético threatens Madrid

Real Madrid defender Dani Carvajal previously said his team would try to get back up after being humiliated by Manchester City in the Champions League. He said the Madrid squad would try to finish as high as possible on the La Liga stage.

But now Madrid is in danger of not being able to finish in the highest position in the Spanish League. In this case it is second place, because it is no longer possible for them to catch Barcelona.

The reason is that with the defeat to Valencia, Madrid has now dropped to third place in the La Liga 2022/2023 standings. They were evicted by Atletico Madrid who collected 72 points.

In the remaining three matches, Madrid will face Vallecano, Sevilla and Athletic Bilbao. The last two names are clearly not easy opponents. If it doesn’t get serious right away, Atletico could make Madrid’s season even worse by forcing them to finish outside the top two Spanish League zones.
