Valencia is promoted as a safe musical destination this summer

«It is not the same to live a concert in Valencia than in another city». The Councilor for Tourism of the Valencia City Council, Emiliano García, has claimed the attractiveness of the city in terms of its musical offer, which will be promoted during the months of July, August and September, and which is framed within the “Listen València” project , which was officially presented yesterday.

The councilor explained that the objective of this campaign is “to value live music and show that the music sector is capable of guaranteeing security measures to deal with the current health situation.” In addition, he stressed that, through this offer, it is intended that “the public hear all the sounds of Valencia, such as the waves on the beach or the mascletà during the Fallas.”

During the summer months 94 musical events will be held in different parts of Valencia, in which local, national and international artists will perform. Some of the scheduled performances focus on a tribute to the music of the 90s and 2000s, DJ sessions at the Bombas Gens art center or the Ensems Festival, as well as massive concerts such as Taburete or David Bisbal. Interested persons will be able to access the «Listen València» website to find out all the performances, their schedules, description and how to go by public transport.

For his part, the Regional Secretary for Tourism, Francesc Colomer, wanted to thank the sector for its efforts, which “has shown its resilience in these difficult times, has been able to adapt and reinvent itself.” In addition, he recalled that “music is a tourist brand, a community story and an element of identity.” In this sense, he added that concerts and festivals are an “element of tourism marketing” and, although some events have been suspended due to the health situation, “they have been shown to be a first-rate tourism product.”

However, Colomer has wanted to launch a message of responsibility to the public with the aim that “the music continues to sound.”

Finally, the representative of the promoter Music Republic, Rafa Adrián, stressed that “Valencia is a safe cultural destination” and, therefore, it is important “to listen to what the city has to say and offer.”
