Valdegour stabbed victim released from hospital

A man was stabbed several times on New Year’s Eve.

New Year’s Eve was not festive for everyone. Thus, a man was stabbed during the night of December 31 to January 1, in the district of Valdegour, in Nîmes, while he was working within the framework of his profession. In our edition of Saturday, January 2, it was notably indicated that the latter suffered from injuries to the abdomen but that these days were not in danger. This Saturday, the Nîmes prosecutor’s office told us good news. According to legal sources, the victim was released from the hospital, unharmed, with a temporary incapacity for work of ten days.

Let us resume the thread of the evening. According to the prosecution, the victim was in the district of Valdegour for professional reasons. The man would in fact be an employee of building cleaning or garbage collection. The time to carry out his professional mission, he had left his vehicle aside. While carrying out her task, the victim reportedly heard suspicious noises near the car. A correct intuition since he caught in the act three people trying to set the vehicle on fire. Unfortunately a successful mission, the car will be completely destroyed by flames.

The victim allegedly tried to prevent criminals from committing their offense in order to protect his vehicle. The discussion quickly escalated. An altercation ensued with the group, in which one of the individuals allegedly pulled out a knife while a second wielded an iron bar. One of the trio allegedly stabbed three times, followed by an iron bar from the second, leaving their target unconscious. Nevertheless, the victim assures to have done well thanks in particular to his coat, which would have protected him during the stabbing of the attackers.

The investigation, entrusted to the police officers of the Departmental Security, is still ongoing. None of the individuals has yet been identified or arrested.
