The annual cleaning in the Eyholz tunnel which forms the southern bypass of Visp (VS) begins on Monday. The tube to Brig is closed this week until Friday 4:00 p.m. The traffic is diverted by the cantonal road.
The tube towards Visp / Staldbach will be closed from Monday April 27 at 8:00 a.m. until Friday May 1 at 4:00 p.m. Here too, traffic will be diverted by the cantonal road. Regular maintenance work on electronic and security equipment is also planned, the Federal Roads Office said on Monday.
With its two tubes each measuring 4,230 meters, the Eyholz tunnel is the longest tunnel in the A9. (ats / nxp)
