Saturday, December 18, at 10:30 a.m., a 34-year-old helicopter pilot took off from the Rarogne aerodrome (VS) with three passengers aboard a LAMA type helicopter (registration HB-XII) leased to the company of Air-Zermatt helicopters. He intended to land on the mountain place of Alphubel (3782 m above sea level) in Saas-Fee.

During this landing, the device, dating from 1978, was severely damaged, without the Valais cantonal police specifying the reasons in its press release. One person was taken to Visp hospital for a medical check-up. She was able to leave the hospital soon after. All the occupants of the aircraft were of Swiss nationality, the police said.
