Following the death of Michel Cottereau, mayor of the new town of Val-du-Maine (Mayenne), the December 4, 2020, from new elections municipal authorities must be organized.
The first round was supposed to take place Sunday, April 11, 2021.
Friday March 26, 2021, Jean-Louis Valleray, deputy mayor of Ballée, announced however that‘no candidate has come forward to submit a list (until March 25, 2021).
Only the second round
Monday, March 29, 2021, the prefecture of Mayenne therefore announces that “the voters of the municipality of Val-du-Maine are therefore not summoned only in the second round municipal by-elections Sunday, April 18, 2021« .

As a reminder, the opening dates of the nomination period for this second round are set as follows: Monday, April 12, 2021 from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 13 from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and from 1:30 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Applications are received by appointment (by phone on 02 53 54 54 56 or by email via the address [email protected]) at the sub-prefecture of Château-Gontier, Maison of the State, 4 rue de la Petite Lande in Château-Gontier-sur-Mayenne.
