The company Prestia SBG (Breton Galvanization Company), situated at The Caro Chapel (Morbihan), is part of the group of the same name. The latter was officially acquired by the Dutch family group Roto on October 5, 2021.
“The group has changed hands,” says Marc Toulgoat, commercial and marketing director of Prestia, who specifies that however, the philosophy of the company has not changed.
Activities and history of the local business
The Prestia group is specialized in galvanization, metallization and painting, and today includes twelve treatment sites, located in Brittany, Normandy, Pays de Loire and Deux Sèvres.
Created in 1976, it has 470 employees and generates an annual turnover of 55 million euros,
The company Prestia SBG has had a special status since 1995, since before this agreement, theshareholding was salary, to understand thatit belonged to part of the employees. “Initially, the number of employee shareholders was 50, reaching the number of 120 shareholders,” says the commercial director.
Keeping your values despite the change
The company took an international turning point by integrating the Roto subsidiary. “We are a big company in the West, but we are small in Europe. In a context of globalization, it became necessary to change. The idea was to develop and lean on a European company while keeping our human principles. “
Marc Toulgoat explains that it is the former employee shareholders who chose the Roto group compared to other groups.
It is not a choice of financial shareholders, but of employees for the future of the company and the sustainability of employment. Roto matches us in terms of values.
Also, he adds that “the Dutch group leaves a great deal of autonomy to the company to develop, with mutual trust between Roto, and the management board appointed in 2018 by former president Pierre Le Bohec, made up of president Christian Wozniak, Arnaud Zedet, Ali Karabulut, David Benoist, and Marc Toulgoat. “
“Prestia SBG and its employee shareholding is a great success, but the original shareholders are gradually retiring, and the group’s model was no longer suitable. Not all that is good is going to change. On the contrary, it will allow future improvements to take us a step further. “
“We will move faster”
“Our philosophy is a commitment to health and safety, always strengthening the human side, and respecting the environment. “
Marc Toulgoat believes that this signing will give a boost to society on an environmental level. “The Netherlands being far ahead on this subject, it will push us to improve even more, especially in terms of reducing carbon emissions. In return, we hope to teach them things too, and to advance each other. ‘Indeed, Prestia comes complement the skills of its new shareholder Dutch.
The results of the Prestia Group over the past decade have been excellent and have enabled continued profitable growth. Roto is keen to continue this journey and hopes to continue to generate further growth and sustainability from Prestia’s core businesses.
Finally, the marketing director indicates that if the company takes on an international dimension, it keeps its proximity to the territory : “This buyout will not change anything at the local level, except the revitalization of projects not slowing down the health crisis. We have the chance to work on activities that cannot be relocated since we have to be next to our customers at the local level. “
