Val-d’Or wants to position itself for the revival of business tourism

The team from the Val-d’Or Convention and Visitors Bureau (OTCVD) will also take part in two promotional events, in Montreal and Quebec in May and June, in order to promote its candidacy with organizers of major events and congresses.

Business tourism has always been at the heart of our reality and we have adopted an action plan to accelerate its revival, says Nancy Arpin, general manager of the OTCVD. We want to attract new customers in new markets. Our job is to analyze the size of each event and then sell our salad. A healthy convention center means a healthy hotel industry and that brings benefits for everyone.

Nancy Arpin does not hide that the demand has been strong for a few weeks for the organization of meetings and meetings of all kinds, since the last sanitary relaxations.

It’s clear that people want to see each other in person. Calls have exploded and our different rooms are struggling to meet demand.she notes.

Our event recruitment work is not necessarily for 2022 or 2023. We are preparing for the future and we hope that, by then, we will have been able to solve labor problems and be more efficient.concludes Nancy Arpin.
