the August 5, 2021, late morning, Anzhelika Terliuga became the fourteenth Valdois athlete to medal at the Olympic Games.
The member ofAASS Sarcelles even almost immortalized his performance a little more by winning the first Olympic title awarded in kumite karate (fight) and remain the only female of theUkraine gold medalist at the Tokyo Olympics.
Dominated in the final by the Bulgarian Ivet Goranova (winner of European Games 2019 and 3e of the 2018 Worlds) with a score of 5-1, Denys Morozov’s protégé finally won the silver medal in -55 kg.

This great award put an end to three years of irregularities in major championships (2nd place at the 2019 European Games but missed podium at the 2018 Worlds and the last two Euros), which appeared to be a paradox in view of its results in the Grand Slam Premier League.
“Between September 2018 and February 2020, Anzhelika notably won 14 medals (including 10 gold) in international Opens and won 93 of his 103 fights to become world No. 1 and Grand Winner.
