Hand in hand for more than a year to fill the digital columns of the site “Le Belinétois”, Louna Lavergne and Corentin Barsacq are about to leave the keyboard to scratch some paper. Practically in press, a 32-page issue that traces the year’s news in the area will find its place on newsstands around 10 December.
Already adamant although very young, the Belinétois site has quickly become a reference on the web when you want to know the news of the town of Val de l’Eyre and its neighbors. If we take a closer look, the site created and launched by Corentin Barsacq, a native of the country, in August 2016, is even the only 100% digital source that is worthwhile in the area. Serious and credible, completely independent, the local source can boast rigorous content.
A joke that has not escaped anyone at the time of the devastating summer fires in the country and its surroundings and which also led the two authors Corentin Barsacq and Louna Lavergne, who arrived in the editorial office just over a year ago, to intervene and tell their coverage of the events on the special set organized by France Bleu Gironde, on August 29th.
They who have also been on the initiative of an online kitten to support the affected populations. On the web and on social networks, the responsiveness and omnipresence of the “Belinétois” have not gone unnoticed. But it is now on paper that the duo from Val de l’Eyre have chosen to write down the memories of a past year. Scored, of course, by flames! On December 10, and after the two previous ones in 2017 and 2019, Louna and Corentin will therefore publish a somewhat special 32-page issue that will sweep 2022 and its most significant moments.
“Our ‘country’ is on the move!”
“We will go beyond the first publications, warns the young woman. There was a lot of history and heritage, but we wanted to make things there more lively, more current. »The “captain” nods her. “Our starting point is obviously located in Belin-Béliet, but Salles, Hostens, Lugos, Saint-Magne or even Saugnac-et-Muret will not be forgotten, Corentin slips. Many faces and stories have marked 2022. We want it to be written. Let there be a trace of all this. »
The flames marked the year, but there was so much more. There must be a trace.
Despite the indelible imprint of the fires and the good place it will occupy “cold” in the next issue of 10 December, the publisher also evokes the “pride” of distilling “positive information”. “Because our ‘country’ is on the move, economic activity is buoyant. We have this mission not to suggest that only flames should make the front page of the newspaper! »
If the boxes are not far from being filled with a heap of copies to be distributed, ready to flood the kiosks and other shops of the Val de l’Eyre, the “Belinétois” has chosen to close the year under the banner of a good news.
“With more than 8,000 new members on our social networks since last summer, it’s time to make a change,” Corentin Barsacq involves. We will take the form of an associative media that people can join. One way to create an engaged community of readers and supporters which should also allow the “web-newspaper” to take a step forward.
The projects and the desire!
“We don’t have to hide it, additional means are needed to grow, trust Louna and Corentin in the same voice. We want to be even closer to local players, offer more recommendations and ensure a stronger presence in the area. It goes without saying that we have to finance this, buy video equipment or secure the backs to perpetuate a print edition, or even increase it. »
In the back of their heads, Louna and Corentin already have plans. This includes the initiation of debates, the proposal of thematic meetings or conferences. “A “Bélinetois” festival in the village is something that also drives us…” In short, the “must see” of the Val de l’Eyre is not yet called that. But it’s not the desire that’s missing!
