Vaillante Olympique Montalbanaise (VOM) samboists once again showcased their skills and brought glory to Montauban, the department, and the region at a prestigious sambo meeting in Marseille. The club’s team of 9 athletes competed in sports sambo, with two of them also participating in combat sambo.
The VOM athletes achieved remarkable success in the competition. Samuel Beitzel (junior – 49kg), Anton Beitzel (junior – 58kg), Louis Leclerc (junior – 71kg), Angélina Laurot (junior – 54kg), and Anthony Delcasse (senior – 58kg) all secured gold medals in sports sambo. Louis Leclerc also emerged as the gold medalist in combat sambo in the junior 71kg category.
The club’s achievements didn’t stop there. Noah Begue (junior – 58kg), Mattéo Grimard (junior – 64kg), Damien Paulot (hope 64kg), and Sarkis Ambartsoumian (senior 71kg) won silver medals in sports sambo. Sarkis Ambartsoumian also claimed a silver medal in combat sambo in the senior 71kg category.
The club expressed its congratulations to these nine talented athletes for their outstanding performances. They also extended their gratitude to the club’s coaches, who tirelessly train these young athletes throughout the year. Additionally, the club thanked Janine and Jean-Claude Cerutti, along with Magali Roques, for organizing the trip and providing logistical support.
Looking ahead, the club has exciting events lined up. They invite everyone to join them at their end-of-season party, which will feature demonstrations from the gymnastics and sambo sections. The event will take place on Saturday, June 24, starting at 8:45 p.m. at the Palisse gymnasium, located at 223 rue de Palisse in Montauban. Furthermore, on Friday, June 30, the club will host a reception for all staff members at the Palisse gymnasium, starting at 7 p.m.
