Jody Thompson had won the candle in an online quiz and tells the British tabloid that suddenly a 50 centimeters high flame came out of the glass jar. “The candle exploded and there were big flames and lots of tiny particles,” she says. “I’ve never seen anything like it. The whole thing was on fire and it was too hot to touch.”

Fortunately, the house of 50-year-old Jody and her partner David Snow did not burn down. “Eventually we got the fire under control and threw the candle out the door. The whole house could have burned down. It was pretty scary at the time, but in retrospect it’s quite funny that Gwyneth’s vagina candle exploded in my living room. “
