The very turbulent weather this Wednesday with strong gusts of wind forced the organizers to cancel the last evening of the Vagabond Hours festival. It is the French group Skip the use which was to occur in Mirebeau.
It was the last night of the festival The Wandering Hours offered each summer by the departmental council of Vienne, but the weather conditions do not ensure the safety of the public and the artists. The Skip the Use concert, scheduled for Wednesday evening in Mirebeau at 9 p.m., is therefore canceled. The decision was taken by the mayor of the city and the prefecture.
The strong gusts announced in the evening prompted the organizers to take no risks “It’s a sad decision, but it was impossible to maintain the concert” we explain to the county council.
To install the stage structure safely, gusts of up to 70 km/hour were needed, but the weather expects tonight up to 85 km / hour. It was therefore impossible to ensure the evening. This is a big shortfall for the municipality which had paid around 10,000 euros, more large quantities of food and drinks were ordered.

The disappointment is all the greater in Mirebeau, as this concert was the first organized by the new festival committee of the municipality and many volunteers were to contribute to the smooth running of the concert.
The concerts of the vagabond hours being free, there will be no loss for the public.

And still due to the announced wind until the beginning of the night, the city of Poitiers has closed all parks and gardens until tomorrow Thursday.
