VacunaFest on Saturday 18 and Sunday 19 will prioritize second dose of vaccine against covid-19 | News

The Minister of Health, Hernando Cevallos, announced today that the VacunaFest that will take place this Saturday 18 and Sunday 19 will place emphasis on those people who require the second dose of the vaccine against covid-19 and said that the minimum age range of those summoned it will remain in 25 years.

After awarding the winners of the First VacunaFest costume and pajama contest, Cevallos explained that a great campaign will be carried out to close the second dose gaps, not only by stimulating attendance at vaccinations but also through exit of health personnel to the streets, in order to search for those who do not yet have their full dose.-

“This weekend the age will not be lowered. There will be a great campaign to begin to close the gaps and reduce the number of people who need their second dose. But also the Minsa will continue to apply the strategy of going out to the streets, house by home, to the squares to meet the people and vaccinate them, “he said from the Campo de Marte.

Cevallos indicated that throughout the country there are more than 3 million 800 thousand people who require their second dose of the vaccine. Of that total, 2 million 964 thousand are within the waiting time of 21 days, while the remaining 899 thousand have already exceeded that time, according to information from the Minsa.

In dialogue with the Andina agency, the head of Immunizations of the Minsa, Gabriela Jiménez, said that the VacunaFest will take place over 36 uninterrupted hours in Metropolitan Lima and Callao, from 07:00 on Saturday 18 to 19:00 on Sunday 19.

The extensive vaccination journey will also take place in all regions of the country, Jiménez added. In the provincial capitals it will be for 36 hours and in the smaller districts it usually takes 12 hours.

Who are the summoned

Among the people summoned for the VaccineFest this weekend are who are 25 years old and they should get their first dose. The 24-year-olds who will turn 25 before the end of the year can also attend.-

Likewise, people with comorbidities who have not yet received their first dose are expected to go to vaccinations, with emphasis on those with type 3 obesity and type 1 and 2 diabetes.

Other groups called are pregnant women not yet vaccinated, people with comorbidities who have not received their second dose and all stragglers over 18 years of age.-

Jiménez said that the estimated goal for this long day of vaccination this weekend is exceed 900 thousand doses applied throughout the country.

Where are the vaccinations

The Ministry of Health (Minsa) has been progressively enabling new spaces for vaccination against covid-19 and they are already adding 74 vaccinations available for the immunization of the population of Metropolitan Lima and Callao, both for the first and the second dose.
