Václav Klaus again went a step further. “This government needs war.” And he explained why

“The only thing that has nominally changed after the regional elections is the fall of the Pirates from the government, that’s certainly some change. However, it is a change in the victory of spirit over matter. The fact that this party, which should never have been in government, has finally fallen out is more than appropriate.”

However, according to him, it was definitely not a government crisis, as the media reported. “It wasn’t a government crisis. Only one miniature party dropped out, the government still had and still has its majority. Moreover, some made it outwit to that majority to contribute again. There is nothing to say about that,” added the ex-president in an interview for XTV.

According to him, the regional elections showed that it is impossible to say who won, because when everywhere a strange mix of political parties are running together, it is impossible to determine who won. “The fact that both Fiala and Babiš appropriate it is, I think, quite logical from both of them, because it cannot be added up and so on. The fact that we allowed coalitions to happen like this in advance, and not after the election, is the end of our democracy. And I preach about it continuously, in vain, nobody wants to hear it,” Václav Klaus continued.

According to Klaus, Fiala is noticeably tired after three years of premiering. “It will be almost three years since he became Prime Minister, there is a certain element of fatigue. It’s a difficult thing, and if you don’t have the temperament and natural capacity for a certain resilience, it destroys you. And he is the example when he simply doesn’t have the natural resilience and charm to handle media situations,” he said in an address to Prime Minister Petr Fiala.

He commented on Jiří Weigl’s statement that the only hope for Fial’s government is the war in Ukraine and spreading fear of Russia. “I fully co-sign Weigl’s statement and agree with it one hundred percent. This pro-Ukrainian, empty, non-Czech government basically needs the war, it lives on it, it allows it to hide and hide a lot of things. Everything is about the slogan of this war,” says Václav Klaus.

According to him, he would not overestimate the importance of the results of the American elections in connection with the war in Ukraine. “The end of the war in Ukraine will be at the moment when the current, already falling, hegemon of world politics moves to say that the war must end. I don’t know what will be going on in deep state thinking. I don’t expect a quick turnaround, Ukraine and Russia will continue to bleed for quite some time,” commented Klaus.

Václav Klaus also leaned on the Czech government for the state budget for next year, originally proposed in the amount of 230 billion, later increased to 241 billion, calling it “pure fraud and a game with numbers”.

He considers the government’s claim that the Constitutional Court ordered it to increase politicians’ salaries to be “bad”. He publicly opposed this claim. He called it “unfortunate” that the first lady should receive monthly allowances for the national team from January, which would improve herself by 95,000 crowns a month. “No first lady has ever had anything like this, so what’s the reason? Does this perhaps mean that this wife of the president is doing some different performances than the previous ones? Livie Klausová certainly did the most performance of the first lady, incomparably. I don’t believe that something like this can happen,” concluded ex-president Václav Klaus.
