Vaccines, the Region will no longer have to keep 30 percent of the doses

This was announced by the councilor for health Mario Nieddu: it is no longer necessary to keep stocks

CAGLIARI. The Regions no longer have the obligation to keep 30% of the doses delivered to guarantee the second inoculation. It is one of the innovations that emerged from the Conference of Regions and which most interest Sardinia, which until now had followed this rule to the letter. Health Councilor Mario Nieddu specifically asked Health Minister Roberto Speranza and the answer was that with new vaccine shipments there will no longer be any need to set aside stocks. On the other hand, the percentage of 2.7% remains blocked, that is the share of vials to which each Region is entitled when they are distributed by the national hub. After mid-April, 7.3 million Johnson & Johnson drugs will arrive in Italy for use in the second quarter, from April to June. Always according to the proportion of 2.7% the island will touch about 200 thousand doses. In this case an inoculation is enough and for this “the acceleration in the campaign will be evident”.

Moreover, the commissioner added, “even doctors have begun to vaccinate in hubs and at home.” Then a clarification: “Today Speranza reiterated that general practitioners are obliged to participate in the vaccination.” No changes to the criteria to be respected in the future for the continuation of the campaign: “It ends with the over 80, the frail and then we proceed according to the personal criteria”, confirms the commissioner. Finally, with regard to the prescriptions for the Regions, “we asked for a review of the criteria and the restoration of the yellow zone”. (HANDLE)
