Vaccines, the protest of general practitioners breaks out – Chronicle

Another black day, on the contagion front, in the district. The cases recorded yesterday by the Ausl are 116, out of 1,056 swabs (643 molecular and 413 rapid antigenic). The percentage of Covid positives on the number of tests done is therefore close to 11%, against 5.3% in the region. And it returns, slightly exceeding them, to the levels of recent days. The strong circulation of the virus continues among the youngest: of the 116 new cases (of which 44 asymptomatic), 49 refer to the 0-24 age group; while there are only seven infections among the over 65s.

The number of those recovered also rises again: 86 have defeated the virus in the last 24 hours, a number which, combined with the absence of further deaths, limits the growth of currently positive people in the neighborhood.

“My advice is not to look at the daily data – the general director of the Ausl, Andrea Rossi reiterated yesterday in the Health Committee -. We went from 35 to 115 cases in one day, from numbers from white to numbers from zone red. He’s schizophrenic. ” Beyond the contingency, “the positive curve has continued to rise significantly since mid-January – remembers Rossi -. And there is a fair circulation of variants. But at this moment, that increase does not follow the peak of infections. of the pressure on services that we recorded in the first wave “.

The hospitalization situation, yesterday, was in fact the same as in the last few days: 31 patients in the internal ward of ordinary hospitalization, 5 in Ecu, 11 in the hospital in Castel San Pietro (all data unchanged compared to the day before) and 10 in intensive care (- 1). Numbers that, according to the CEO of the Ausl, can lend themselves to different interpretations: “An optimistic one, with more contagious but less harmful variants, and a virus that barks but does not bite”; the other pessimistic with Covid which could reserve “a peak of hospitalization and mortality” later on.

In this context, the vaccine theme remains central. There are 2,979 people with a complete cycle in the district and 4,712 the first inoculated doses. The Region announced the other evening an agreement with the general practitioners of Emilia-Romagna to kick off, from Monday 22, the use of AstraZeneca to vaccinate people with disabilities and teachers. “We have not received any information from the competent bodies – this is the protest that the Imola GPs entrusted yesterday to an open letter -. Our clients are already contacting us to have appointments. This involves a heavy commitment such as to unfortunately configure the high probability of not being able to reach us in case of need for assistance for health reasons. We believe it is essential to inform the public security authorities of such possible disruptions beyond our control. We reaffirm our full availability and commitment, which however deserve respect “.

In the meantime, a small alarm bell resounds at Cra Venturini, which has reopened for visits from relatives and is preparing to welcome new guests, according to a strict schedule. One of the cleaners of the structure, now Covid free but the scene of a violent outbreak in recent weeks, tested positive.

“But the guests are now all vaccinated with a double dose or cured of the virus – explains Alberto Minardi, who coordinates the crisis unit of the home for the elderly -. For this reason, except for the variants of the virus, we are relatively calm”.
