Wonogiri — The Wonogiri Health Office received complaints from the public through the Wonogiri Regency Government’s complaint channel regarding the scarcity of infant vaccines. Meanwhile, the related agency claims that since last March it has not received supplies of several types of vaccines.
“Many people are disappointed when they want to vaccinate their children. Therefore, we report that currently there are routine program vaccines for babies that have been empty for a long time,” said Head of the Wonogiri District Health Office (Dinkes) Adhi Dharma accompanied by the Head of Disease Control Mardiyanto, Thursday (29/7).
It was explained, for this condition, the office had reported the vacancy of routine immunization vaccines for the baby to the Wonogiri Regent. The types of vaccines that no longer exist are Pentabio (DPT HB HiB) and Measless Rubella (MR) vaccines, which have not been supplied since last March. Meanwhile, the Inactivated Polio Vaccine (IPV) has not been supplied since last May.
Meanwhile, currently available vaccines in Wonogiri are Hepatitis B vaccine (HB 0), BCG and Oral Polio Vaccine (OPV).
“We don’t know why there is no supply. All vaccines from the government’s immunization program are covered by the central government through the Ministry of Health,” he explained.
He added that so far, Puskesmas and hospitals have received government program vaccines from the Health Office. Some Puskesmas or hospitals may still have vaccines due to the remaining stock a few months ago. However, their numbers are dwindling. Therefore, while waiting for the vaccine, people are asked to be careful in anticipating.
“For example, those who have not been vaccinated with BCG, be careful, don’t go near TB sufferers,” he said.
