Director of the United States National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, Dr Anthony Fauci said the COVID-19 vaccine safe and effective means of ending a pandemic could be available and distributed by 2021.
“We will know whether the vaccine is safe and effective by the end of November, early December,” said Dr Fauci CNN International, Tuesday (27/10/2020).
“The number of doses that will be available in December will definitely not be enough to vaccinate everyone, so it will have to wait several months until 2021,” he continued.
According to him, vaccination against “a large part of the human population” will have a significant impact on reducing infections COVID-19 that exists today.
With the limited number of vaccine doses and adoption of health protocols, Dr Fauci predicts the end pandemic so that people can live a normal life again in the third to fourth quarter of next year.
“I predict a combination of safe and effective vaccines and the application of strict health protocols by the third or fourth quarter of next year, we can go to normality,”.
