The work explains that the anticovid vaccine works through RBD-NP (receptor-binding domain nanoparticle vaccine) nanoparticles, these provide protection against COVID-19 variants with a single dose.
To carry out the tests, three groups of mice were analyzed, of which eight received a dose, eight more were inoculated with two doses, and six did not receive the active ingredient.
“This study provides proof of the principle that multivalent sarbecovirus RBD-NPs induce heterotypic protection and motivates the advancement of these broadly protective sarbecovirus vaccines in the clinic,” the research details.
The specialists in charge of the work point out that, although there are still more studies in this regard, an advance of this type would represent a saving in the amount of vaccines necessary to complete a scheme against COVID-19.
