The government wants to go fast. Parliamentarians are determined to make themselves heard. It is this Wednesday, December 29 that the law committee of the Assembly examines the bill transforming the health pass into vaccine pass, before debates promising to be vigorous in the hemicycle, Monday January 3. It will then be up to the Senate to take over, forty-eight hours later.
The executive’s objective is for this pass to come into effect in mid-January. It will then be compulsory to go to restaurants, bars, cinemas…; to take long-distance transport… A vaccination pass, coupled with a negative test, could even be required at the entrances to nightclubs.
“A lot of questions”
Seized, the Council of State gave an agreement in principle to the text, but with conditions. He therefore requests that the certificate of recovery (after a Covid infection) be accepted as a substitute for the proof of vaccination status. Or that the presentation of a negative test remains valid for boarding buses, subways, RER …
“In my opinion, the control of the vaccination pass and the identity card by the owners of restaurants, bars … will create tensions”, warns deputy Philippe Latombe (MoDem, Vendée). Which also points to the significant risks of falsifying the document.
